Citation: Karl E. Wolf, O26202, Captain, 16th Infantry. For meritorious service in connection with operations in the Army of Occupation in Germany from 5 June 1945 to 23 December 1945. As Operations and Training Officer and Battalion Commander of the Third Battalion, 16th Infantry, Captain Wolf displayed exceptional energy, intelligence, and tact, in accomplishing a difficult military mission. His foresight and professional competence overcame many of the handicaps which confront a battalion operating understrength. His untiring devotion to duty and unrelenting perseverance reflect the highest credit upon himself and the military service. Captain Wolf is hereby authorized to wear the Army Commendation Ribbon by direction of the Secretary of War.
