Citation: Emil V. B. Edmond, O34234, Major, 16th Infantry. For meritorious service in connection with operations in the Army of Occupation in Germany from 14 November 1945 to 14 August 1946. As Commanding Officer, First Battalion, 16th Infantry, Major Edmond displayed exceptional energy, intelligence, and tact, in accomplishing a difficult military mission. His foresight and ingenuity overcame many of the handicaps which face a battalion operating separately and well spread along a border line of approximately fifty miles. His untiring devotion to duty and his demonstrated professional competence greatly contributed to the successful accomplishment of his Battalion’s mission. Major Elmond is hereby authorized to wear the Army Commendation Ribbon by direction of the Secretary of War. Residence at appointment: Pawling, New York.
