Citation: Bernard Block, RA6709254, First Sergeant, 16th Infantry. For meritorious service in connection with operations in the Army of Occupation in Germany from 14 January 1946 to 3 September 1946. The superior leadership, initiative, personal interest, and ability, with which Sergeant Block executed his responsibilities as First Sergeant of Company “I”, 16th Infantry, deserve the highest praise. He maintained the administration and operation of his company at a high degree of efficiency at all times. Sergeant Block’s uncompromising devotion to duty reflects great credit upon himself and the military service. First Sergeant Block is hereby authorized to wear the Army Commendation Ribbon by direction of the Secretary of War.
