Donate to the Collections

The 16th Infantry Regiment Historical Society, a non-profit organization recognized by Dutch law, has been adding historical materials to its world-class collection since 2010. We are always looking for artifacts with a good story, so the Society encourages the public to help broaden and enrich the history of the United States 16th Infantry Regiment through donations. The generosity of the public provides many of the materials used by the Society to continually enhance its collections. However, we are not able to accept everything we are offered. Below is listed what we are and are not looking to add to our collection at the moment.

WHAT DO WE ACCEPT?

We are most interested in original prewar, wartime, and postwar documents and photographs that help us to understand the experiences of individuals and smaller size units. We are also accepting any letters, journals, scrapbooks or service documents. The Society is also interested in oral histories with 16th Infantrymen who served in World War I, the inter-war period and/or World War II. We accept both personal interviews and public presentations in both video and audio formats.

WHAT DO WE NOT ACCEPT?

The Society does not accept medals, insignia, equipment or uniforms of any kind. We also do not accept any military weaponry, including (but not limited to) guns, swords, daggers, and explosive devices.
